Ocono develops and manufactures hose solutions for OEMs, technical distributors, and end users across industrial and specialist applications. Drawing on more than 70 years of expertise, the group serves customers in more than 70 countries across applications ranging from machinery and plant engineering to agriculture, industrial cleaning, and medical equipment.
Arc is a people-led company, and that shows in how we work together. The team strengthens our financial analysis, shares new product ideas, and listens closely as we shape the next applications together.
Managing multi-entity sales reporting built around revenue and targets
Across Ocono’s broad mix of products, markets, and customer groups, a revenue number that looked on target could still mask very different underlying patterns. Those patterns were exactly what sales and executive teams needed to see before deciding where to act.
For Ocono’s lean finance team, that gap affected more than the reporting process. Every extra step taken to assemble a usable view of operations delayed the context sales and executive teams needed to decide where to focus, and follow up on the customers, products, or orders behind it.
To support Ocono’s European operations, the finance team consolidated information from several entities in an existing reporting tool, which showed standard measures such as revenue against target. But to understand why those figures had moved, the team still exported extracts into Excel and built the answer manually. That meant tracing performance by region or product category, checking which orders remained in backlog, and locating delays by customer or product.
The Ocono team, therefore, needed a platform that worked alongside existing systems, reflected its own categories and reporting logic, and evolved as new questions emerged. That continuity mattered as Ocono prepared for their ERP transition: the team wanted to strengthen financial steering now and preserve the reporting logic it would need through the transition.
An introduction through Ocono’s management team brought Arc into the conversation. Arc fit the brief with a flexible, AI-native platform that supported Ocono’s reporting logic and a team prepared to develop each use case alongside the people closest to the data.
Previously, deeper questions still meant pulling extracts into Excel before we could work with the results. With Arc, AI helps to retrieve the information and generate reports, such as the daily sales view automatically.
Arc turns Ocono’s source data into an automated daily sales view
The partnership began with Ocono’s internal ledger, source data, and the connection points behind the sales view. Arc connects directly to Ocono’s data, where its agents retrieve the source data behind the daily sales view. Moritz and his colleagues mapped how that information was structured and which definitions the view needed to preserve. Arc, with the help of AI, translated that knowledge into a unified data model across entities, automating controlling and reporting today while creating a path for the same logic to evolve with Ocono’s move to their new ERP system.
Where deeper questions had previously sent the team back to extracts and Excel, Ocono now uses Arc’s AI to move from revenue against target to the drivers behind it within the same view. They compare sales mix across regions and product categories, check open orders and delivery delays, and narrow down the analysis by customer or product. When a new question arises, the team asks Arc and receives a usable answer in minutes rather than spending days building it manually.
An Arc agent triggers the daily sales view. Behind it, agent-run automation retrieves current ERP data, applies Ocono’s definitions, and distributes the results each day without the team having to manually compile the report. For Ocono, Arc serves a single, governed view used across finance, sales, and leadership. Since Arc retrieves and assembles the view, the finance team can investigate a new question from the relevant context rather than rebuilding the analysis first.
Today, Ocono’s sales and executive teams start from the same view, using AI to drill down into revenue by region and product category and examining the data behind sales performance. They track backlog and delivery delays, following up with the customer, product, or order behind a change immediately, without waiting for finance to build a new report.
Just as importantly, the working relationship continues through weekly check-ins. Moritz takes new filters, reporting questions, and product ideas directly to the Arc team and works through them with the people building the platform. “Having someone we can always reach when we need support is extremely helpful,” he says. “The direct communication with Arc is a real advantage.” That direct access keeps the platform evolving with Ocono’s needs, from refining the daily view to developing entirely new applications.
Arc gives us a flexible way to pull the reports we need and quickly examine the topics we define in advance. Its AI gives us a ready-to-use sales view each day, so we can focus on evaluating the information.
With Arc, Ocono’s AI-generated daily sales view has become the shared starting point for sales and executive decisions. Questions that once triggered new exports and Excel analysis can now be answered in minutes.
- 1 daysaved each month on daily sales reporting
- 50%faster access to revenue, backlog, and order-delay information
Looking ahead, Ocono is extending Arc’s role beyond daily sales reporting and into the next phase of its ERP and financial transformation. Moritz is working with the Arc team to design an AI demand-forecasting model for selected hose products.
Arc already strengthens our financial analysis, but the greater potential is still ahead of us. We are shaping that next phase together.
